“Not only is Dan a great song writer but he is an exceptional guitarist”

Blues in Britain

"...a beautiful slow smoldering blues, lovely soulful guitar and some excellent piano from Ray Drury, I like this track; it takes me right back to the early blues scene in Britain back in the 60's, from the likes of John Mayall and Fleetwood Mac"

Blues Matters

"...they started the set with one of their compositions called 'Winter of '75', which featured excellent acoustic slide from Dan. As a three-man piece, with only a lead guitar, double bass and drums, the band succeeded in pulling off a big electric blues sound, in particular the early Fleetwood Mac influenced 'Messing Around', which featured some great guitar work from Dan on his Les Paul..."

Blues in Britain

"For a small band with a semi-acoustic format they made a full sound and their tightness as a band was evident from the off.....‘Rollin’ And Tumblin’’ and Albert King’s ‘Drowning On Dry Land’, both of which had plenty of good slide work from Dan on his dobro....a fine night of music"

Blues in the South

“A different cup of tea was Dan Sowerby. An accomplished slide player (resonator and Strat) he is also a fine singer and did what was later described as an effortless set, most of the time with a smile on his face. He has an open personality that he is able to project and daringly even did an instrumental piece (Voodoo Slide) that was delightful. Some of his guitar work is intricate in the extreme. With an unnamed (stand-up) bass player and drummer the set was hugely impressive and even included some 'bring down the volume' quiet bits that added hugely to the dynamic effect”

“Dan Sowerby’s debut album ‘Milestone’ will pick you up, put you down, and shake you about. Some songs will have you dancing whilst others will have you crying, but the transition between each song works, this diversity makes for a well balanced album that can be enjoyed what ever mood you’re in”

Blues in the North West

“A great mix of styles on this well put together album, to suit everyone’s taste. Dan, as the lynchpin of the outfit, does a great job”
